Psychiatric evaluations

Understanding what you’re experiencing.

An evaluation is a detailed conversation about your concerns, your health, and how life has been feeling.

When an evaluation may help.

You may be noticing changes in mood, attention, sleep, or worry. You may also want a fresh look at an existing diagnosis or treatment plan. You do not need a diagnosis before requesting care.

What the conversation includes.

Eduward will ask about current concerns, past treatment, physical health, medications, daily functioning, and your goals. Some questions may feel personal; you can ask why they matter and how the information will be used.

Making sense of the next steps.

Together, you can discuss possible explanations and care options. These may include medication, further assessment, coordination with another clinician, or a referral when appropriate. An evaluation does not automatically lead to a prescription.

Your provider. Your next step.

Care is provided by Eduward Grandes, MSN, PMHNP-BC, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Conversations are available in English, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish.

How to request an appointment

ADHD assessment, testing, and treatment.

A clinical assessment brings together your concerns, health history, and day-to-day experiences. QbCheck is a separate assessment used alongside that conversation. Treatment recommendations depend on the whole evaluation; neither an appointment nor testing guarantees medication.

ADHD evaluation: our practice policy

As part of the ADHD diagnostic evaluation at Radiant Minds Psychiatry, patients are required to complete a QbCheck assessment. The assessment has a separate $250 fee, which is not covered by insurance.

QbCheck results are considered alongside your clinical evaluation and health history. The test alone does not establish an ADHD diagnosis.

This is this practice’s requirement for an ADHD diagnostic evaluation, not a requirement for every psychiatric appointment or every ADHD evaluation elsewhere. The testing fee is additional to appointment fees. If you use insurance for your appointment, your appointment cost depends on your coverage; the self-pay rate does not automatically apply.
